Iceland: Studies from the Ginnungagap

As a visiting artist in residence at the Lunga School I have come into a cross-disciplanry way of making. Included in this section are short thoughts and unfinished and finished works that have arisen from listening, research, and interactions with cycle, animacy, stillness, becoming, and movement in the fjord. What follows is a visual language (in-process) that encompasses writing, video, performance, and sculpture. A new body of work is arising— something that is unfolding before me and I cannot see where exactly it leads. My intentions are to notice more, become more conscious in my reciprocity with the world of animate things, use materials that degrade back into the Earth, and to work with others. Questions beget questions.

If you have some time. Begin — watch and listen to the waves and sounds to emanate from nothing and journey into the fjord.

Otherwise, continue to Earthwomb under the Iceland menu header.

Sound was created with 20 voices in the abandoned fish factory silo.
